Giovane donna al Pincio
Descrizione: “Monte Pincio”
Jacob Bratland was in Rome on a study tour in 1898. Monte Pincio was a popular place in town, and both Ibsen and Bjornson, Undset, and Grieg have praised this hill opposite the Piazza del Popolo, west of the Villa Medici. The subject has Bratland probably used his wife as a model. It rests an intimacy and familiarity of the story of the knitting woman.
